prisoner
Alert! Alarm!
The climate is changing, water consumption increased and she, the primary commodity, essential to the existence of life, who does? Decreases, of course! With the Summer
then, the "water scarcity" is manifested in all its severity. Then
away with alarms, with images of the polar cap that restricts the rivers that show the bed with fish belly up and parched fields with sod.
"Awareness". This is the watchword.
We are all "responsible" for this "disaster" planetary.
shots twice the drain in the bathroom?
you rinse in the shower too?
Wash the car with water "drinking"?
Water plants on the terrace?
Planet sene and realize you rebuke your offspring will be cursed in secula seculorum!
yet ... I do not come back!
not back, so I feel cheated.
But who would "give it to drink"? The
mechanisms for adverse Opposite to me there are at least two.
The first is global warming is a fact.
increases the average temperature of the Earth, the polar caps shrink and deserts are advancing.
water cluster goes overboard, it becomes salt and increases the average level of the seas. Sea water can not be used for human uses only after a process of desalination.
Parenthesis: fresh water is not only humans but also to all other living beings, animals and plants. If
increases the average temperature of the planet, is it true that this implies a smaller amount of rainfall?
If the temperature of the atmosphere increases, the air will be able to maintain a greater amount of water vapor. But once it reaches saturation, the flow of rain should recover with the only observable effect (apart from the heat) of a decrease in the level of the seas ... no, if the polar ice caps melt and sea levels would rise, perhaps the only observable effect would be the reduction of the ice.
Even if the sea levels rise, this would also lead to an increase in areas covered by sea water. Then subjected to a higher water surface evaporation, evaporation further accentuated by rising average temperature of the atmosphere. We
(we?) Warmer and more humid atmosphere ... average.
The fact that fresh water shortages however, can not only be attributed to global warming and human consumption.
Or rather, using the word "consumption" is likely to "channel" our thoughts only on the image of tap running unnecessarily.
So why no water? We
.
Water use in rural society: when you need water, it draws on and is used almost immediately. The water returns to "free" in a short time. Free from spreading into the soil, to wet the ground to evaporate and return available in the form of rain in much less time ... almost instantly.
Water use in modern society: the water is drawn from a long time before use. Think, for example Italy (but the reasoning is inevitably global) and try to imagine all hyper-super-maxi-mini-market that we are including all the grocery stores.
How many bottles of water able to "see"?
How many soda cans?
How many bottles of beer and wine?
How many ice creams and ice lollies?
How many bottles of mouthwash, aftershave, etc.. ?
Imagine all the houses, how many other bottles of "water" you see? How many tanks of autoclave? How many refrigerators covered with eternal ice? How many swimming pools?
Think of all the pipes that carry water right into our homes for miles and miles: how much water "contain".
Think of all the cars and trucks and buses, how many batteries filled with distilled water, see?
You can continue to play with imaginary water for a while '... to think about where all the water drains modern sooner or later it ends. Sewers that are obviously "channeled" and that further delay the return of the water environment (sometimes if they are cleaned, it is good) and shorten the way to the sea water salinity.
're playing at ... "Water prisoner"!
to me what is the real problem: fresh water is increasingly a prisoner and that the environment is becoming less free.
Solution?
Free water!
This is not to say you go to empty the bottles in supermarkets or local pipeline sabotage.
With "free" I mean both reduce the time that water remains unusable environment, is increasing its stay in the water and on land already in use and properly purified.
